Kidney Disease May Be The Centerpiece Of Camp Lejeune Water Contamination Cancer
More incidences of kidney cancer or kidney disease may have occurred than any other illness
Tuesday, December 6, 2022 - It should come as no surprise that kidney cancer is the most frequent type of cancer derived from Camp Lejeune water contamination. Liquids we drink must first be filtered through the kidneys before being absorbed into the body. The various functions of the kidneys, according to Kidney.org are, "To remove wastes and extra fluid. Your kidneys act like a filter to remove wastes and extra fluid from your body, to control blood pressure. Your kidneys need pressure to work properly, to make red blood cells. Your kidneys make a hormone called erythropoietin, to keep bones healthy, and to control pH Levels." The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is highly concerned about VOCs in the air, water, and soil and researches to try and minimize human exposure. The EPA takes VOCs seriously and tells readers, "Some organics (VOCs) can cause cancer in animals, and some are suspected or known to cause cancer in humans." It is also probable that more incidences of kidney cancer or kidney disease may have occurred among the more than one million people that drank the VOC-contaminatd tap water at Marine Base Camp Lejeune in North Carolina from 1953 to 1987. Toxic chemicals in drinking water can cause tumors to develop on or in the kidneys. Volatile organic chemicals and PFAS forever chemicals are foreign objects to the organ and the kidneys do not know how to process them. Blood in the urine is one of the early warning signs that one has kidney disease. Another early sign could be bloating in the extremities, the ankles, feet, and toes, and also the wrists, hands, and fingers due to the kidneys slowing down and water building up. This could lead to a lack of sleep from having to urinate frequently at night. If you have spent time at Camp Lejeune and are experiencing these symptoms of others, you may wish to visit a urologist who may refer you to an oncologist for a cancer screening. Since the early signs of kidney cancer are obvious, most cases can be diagnosed early and are treatable. Cancer.net says that around two-thirds of all cases of kidney cancer are survivable. It is wrong to ignore kidney cancer's early warning signs.
The Camp Lejeune Justice Act (CLJA) allows all military service members, civilian employees, and their families to file a claim with the US Navy Judge Advocates General (JAG) seeking lump-sum monetary compensation for the financial losses suffered from drinking water cancer. People should consult with a Camp Lejeune Justice Act attorney to ensure the forms are filled out properly the first time. If a claim is denied one may now file a lawsuit to hold the US military accountable for lying to the people of Camp Lejeune about the safety of the water they drank, cooked with, and bathed in. The scope of the damages suffered by the residents of Camp Lejeune is staggering. Thousands of women live on the base during their entire pregnancy and considerable stillbirths, miscarriages, and birth defects have resulted.
